Serious coding-agent projects have converged on the same interface: a folder with a SKILL.md file in it. Once skills became files you can diff, review, and ship, they stopped being a harness feature. This post explains why keeping skills inside one harness (~/.claude/skills, .cursor, .codex) only works for one dev on one machine, and why playbooks belong in a shared workspace instead.
